When you double-click the installation file (file type .msix), Windows does not ask you to install it, but rather which application should be used to open the file.

Solution:

  1. Check the version of Windows: minimum Windows 10 (version 1709).

  2. Check if the App Installer is installed on the laptop. If this program is not installed, you can download it from the Microsoft Store.

  3. If the version of Windows is recent enough and the App Installer is installed, please try installing the Installer Service Tool again (see: Installing the Installer Service Tool).
